Update on Flowers for Algernon 10-15-14
Since the last time I've updated my book, Charlie has become resentful. Charlie is convinced that nobody sees him as a person, but rather a science experiment. Each of his entries are getting angrier and angrier, and longer. He thinks people see him as an equal to Algernon, but not themselves. He is a little correct, but not to the extreme that he believes.

Update on Flowers for Algernon October
In Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, so far I have read 45% and it is very interesting. Since the last time, Charlie's character has developed into almost a whole new person. There has been a lot of flash backs, to how Charlie used to be vs. how he his now. Charlie's surgery obviously was a success, but he is struggling with learning to properly behave with people and in public. The flash backs show how naive he used to be, and how his life used to be. He's becoming more self aware and beginning to challenge authority, he's realizing how people are really treating him and he doesn't like it. His "friends" are leaving him because of how much he has changed, and Charlie is beginning to think of himself as better than his old friends.

Blueberry
We got Blueberry late in July of
2013. He came in late at night in his travel cage. He was too big to go through
the cage door, so we had to take apart the cage. When we opened the top, we
finally got to see him in person. We had spent the last three months watching
his growth online; he grew so much in such a little time. This blue and gold macaw
was very scared at first, but in no time at all he became more social and
loving towards us. When we first got him, he couldn’t eat solid foods yet. We
had to feed him by a large eyedropper every three hours, for two weeks. My
family would argue over who would have to get up at 3 am to feed him, it would
almost always end up being me.

Flowers for Algernon
Flowers for Algernon is about a mentally retarded adult who goes under experiments to enhance his brain function and IQ. I've only read a small portion of the book, but so far it is very interesting. The book is written in a form of a dairy, but he's writing them as "Progress Reports" for the doctors who conducted the experiment. Each progress report is written in his grammar, but with each report his grammar improves and his writing becomes more in depth. So far I enjoy the book, and look forward to reading more.
