There once was a jingoistic bald eagle named Brad. He had an affinity for the American flag, as his nest was made from one. Brad’s favorite past time is to harangue other birds about America and because of this every bird hates him. Brad can’t date other birds, so he is in love with a vixen, who loves this implacable love for America.
Brad decided to diatribe  his new friend, Harry the shark, about America one day. Little did Brad know, Harry is a sadistic dunce who hates America. Harry began to hate Brad, and began to plan his death.
However, Harry isn’t the most intelligent, so it took about 4 years before Brad actually died. Harry waited for Brad to plummet into the waters for fish, then took every fish Brad caught. Harry did this for a week straight, every time Brad caught a fish, Harry would eat it before Brad could even get a bite. Brad died of starvation three days later. His girlfriend married Harry and had 17 children.

The end

The New House

We lived in our last house for my entire life, all 10 years of it. Moving into a new house felt like we were betraying our old house, I felt bad for it. Some new nefarious family was going to live there. Who knows what they’ll do! What if they paint my old room to some ugly color, or get a new stove? It’s all just down hill from there, that beautiful house will plummet into some horrid thing no one gives a second look.
I met one of the girls who moved in. She seemed like a dunce, I don’t want someone so idiotic living in MY home. Well, I guess their home now; this stupid place is my house, but never my home. How could my draconian mother make us move? I have to go to a new school, leave my friends behind, and for what? Just because my sycophant sister had a baby and now we need an extra bedroom.
For months she acted like some sweet angel, before telling mother she was pregnant. If she had stayed the same, I bet we wouldn’t of even had to move. This is all her fault.

Update on Flowers for Algernon 10-15-14

Since the last time I've updated my book, Charlie has become resentful. Charlie is convinced that nobody sees him as a person, but rather a science experiment. Each of his entries are getting angrier and angrier, and longer. He thinks people see him as an equal to Algernon, but not themselves. He is a little correct, but not to the extreme that he believes.

Update on Flowers for Algernon October

In Flowers for Algernon  by Daniel Keyes, so far I have read 45% and it is very interesting. Since the last time, Charlie's character has developed into almost a whole new person. There has been a lot of flash backs, to how Charlie used to be vs. how he his now. Charlie's surgery obviously was a success, but he is struggling with learning to properly behave with people and in public. The flash backs show how naive he used to be, and how his life used to be. He's becoming more self aware and beginning to challenge authority, he's realizing how people are really treating him and he doesn't like it. His "friends" are leaving him because of how much he has changed, and Charlie is beginning to think of himself as better than his old friends.

Blueberry

We got Blueberry late in July of 2013. He came in late at night in his travel cage. He was too big to go through the cage door, so we had to take apart the cage. When we opened the top, we finally got to see him in person. We had spent the last three months watching his growth online; he grew so much in such a little time. This blue and gold macaw was very scared at first, but in no time at all he became more social and loving towards us. When we first got him, he couldn’t eat solid foods yet. We had to feed him by a large eyedropper every three hours, for two weeks. My family would argue over who would have to get up at 3 am to feed him, it would almost always end up being me.

Flowers for Algernon

Flowers for Algernon is about a mentally retarded adult who goes under experiments to enhance his brain function and IQ. I've only read a small portion of the book, but so far it is very interesting. The book is written in a form of a dairy, but he's writing them as "Progress Reports" for the doctors who conducted the experiment. Each progress report is written in his grammar, but with each report his grammar improves and his writing becomes more in depth. So far I enjoy the book, and look forward to reading more.
